Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master and Michael Haneke's Amour are the movies to beat at the upcoming London Film Critics' Circle Awards after landing seven nominations apiece.
The French-language movie and the post-war drama are both tipped for the coveted Film of the Year honour, going up against Argo, Beasts Of The Southern Wild and Life Of Pi. Both films are also nominated in the best director and best screenwriter categories among others.
New James Bond film Skyfall is also a big contender at the prizegiving - Daniel Craig is tipped to be named British Actor of the Year for his latest turn as 007, while Javier Bardem, who played Bond's nemesis Silva, is nominated in the Supporting Actor Of The Year category.
Dame Judi Dench, who starred as 007's MI6 boss M, has landed two nominations for Skyfall - for British Actress of the Year and Supporting Actress of the Year.
The spy thriller is also on the British Film of the Year list, which features Berberian Sound Studio, The Imposter, Les Miserables and Sightseers.
The winners will be announced at the prizegiving on 20 January.
