We are pleased to announce that Kristi Jones received her certification and became the sixth Regional Director to obtain this goal.? Kristi joined several other colleagues in the financial aid industry and completed NSLP?s pilot certification program through the Institute for Personal Financial Management.
The Institute for Personal Financial Management was established?by NSLP?in 2010 to serve the higher education community as the preeminent financial education resource; leveraging research, resources, and education.? NSLP?provides evidence-based tools and best practices to help future generations successfully navigate the ever-changing financial landscape.? NSLP recently?launched the Personal Financial Management Certification Program, a self-paced study program that provides a robust foundation of personal financial management and counseling principles.
We all know that educating students and parents about financial literacy is a hot topic right now.? The need to lower default rates are a concern for all parties, and Nelnet continues to evaluate ways we can assist you in your financial literacy outreach efforts as well as provide additional resources for your default prevention efforts.? Our entire team is working to become a Certified Educator in Personal Finance as we all share the same goal of empowering our students to make wise financial decisions.
