If you thought Sheldon couldn't get any more obliviously offensive, this week's "Big Bang Theory" probably set you straight.
After the unfortunate death of Dr. Tupperman, a tenured position opened up at the university, prompting Sheldon, Leonard and Raj to compete for the role.
When it came to light that Regina King's Janine Davis (the woman who conducted Sheldon's sensitivity training) was on the committee, Sheldon managed to offend her yet again -- offering her a copy of "Roots" to make up for the bad first impression he might have made on her. Naturally, she didn't find a film about slavery to be in the best taste.
Despite Sheldon's awkward (and unsuccessful) attempts to charm her, Janine ended up recommending all three of our hapless guys for the position ... and then Sheldon went and made things weird again by offering her a secret handshake and calling her "sister" in gratitude, prompting her to shut her door in his face.
TV Grapevine noted that the quest for tenure is far from over, which leaves plenty of time for Sheldon to get even more inappropriate.
"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
