The family of Phillip E. Rothwell has received the following condolences.

Dear Ila and family,?

We have not seen or visited for many years and you may not remember us. ?Ila, you babysat for our children, Gretta and Guy, about 45 years ago or so.? We are now in Arizona but keep in touch via the Post Bulletin where we read about Phil's death.? Please accept our deepest sympathy for your loss.

Dear Ila and family -- I am Al Walz's sister, Dolores,?and I?live in Austin, MN. I am sending my heartfelt sympathy to you, Ila,?and your family,?for the loss of your dear husband, and your sons'?loving father!? And even though I was lucky enough to?get to meet you and Phil a few times, I?have not gotten to know you well, personally. However,?I feel like I do because of the many many wonderful things I have always heard about "Phil and Ila" from Al and Yvonne!?You all were such valued friends to them for so many years, so right now I am feeling very sad for them too, as they will miss Phil so much! And in the past?few years?I have heard about the times you and Phil got together with them for breakfast on a pretty regular basis.?Those times will be treasured memories, along with all the other life things your families shared. And?I'm sure?you already must know how lucky you are to have them so close to you now, as of course, I know them well enough to know they will be there for you, whenever you need their friendship!?

You and your family?are in my thoughts and prayers, and may God bless you all and keep you strong through this difficult time in your lives!

Dear Ila, Bruce, Brian, Bryce & families,

We send our most sincere sympathies this morning.? We are so very sorry for the loss of your
Husband, & Father, and our Friend. It is a struggle to know what to say.

Many years ago I was in Havant,
England and was looking
for a place to go to Mass on Sunday morning. Right next to the church (Built
1049 AD) was a very old Cemetery. I saw this quote on one of the gravestones.
It touched my heart in it's truth, & seems appropriate to share it with you.

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory
no one can steal."

Let your memories sustain you at this difficult time.

In 1966 Phil built a new house for us in Meadow
Park. During that time, we got to
know? Phil, & one year later, Phil,
Ila & family moved into a new house right across the street from us.

During the next 47 years our friendship grew, we raised our
families, watched many high school games, ate many lobsters at Michael's,
poured concrete, painted cars, played cards and, walked 1000s of miles, &
wore out 5 dogs hunting pheasants. This covers just a few of the things our two
families shared.

Ila, Bruce, Brian, Bryce & families, while we are sorry
for you, we are sorry for us too.? Phil's
passing leaves a huge hole in our life also.

We will stay close, so together, we can share the many
memories we all have.

Much love from Al, Yvonne & family

Brian and Sheila,

So hard to lose a parent. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Take care.
